Summer’s officially here and it’s been amazing sharing this month’s theme with you.

Thank you to everyone who wrote in with stories and reflections on social skills. We’ve loved hearing how your kids are finding creative ways to connect.

Speaking of connection, what if your child had to communicate without words?

It’s a powerful question that leads us to an incredible story. This Friday June 27th is Helen Keller’s birthday, and her life reminds us how deeply kids need support in learning how to connect.

Helen lost her sight and hearing at 19 months old due to illness. For years, she lived in silence and frustration until her teacher, Anne Sullivan, helped her break through, using patience, touch, and love.

It’s a beautiful example of how much impact we grown-ups have in guiding social intelligence.

Want to explore a fun, new way to connect? Try learning a few signs together!

ASL (American Sign Language) wasn’t formally recognized as a language until the 1960s, and today, it's one of the most in-demand languages across jobs and industries, partly because only about 1 in 100 Americans know it.

You never know where this social skill might take your child or what kind of beautiful connection it might spark.

Let’s jump into the rest of this week’s edition with this month's best highlights, a summer-ready playlist, and a refreshing product we think you’ll love.

By the way, we know that while the kids are on vacation mode, most of us parents and educators are still juggling work, play, and everything in between. We get it.

At REK, we believe staying energized shouldn’t come at the cost of jitters or crash-and-burn afternoons.

That’s why we love Rarebird—a coffee powered by Px, the natural compound your body already makes from caffeine. It delivers smooth, sustained energy to help you stay focused, patient, and fully present with your kids. Learn how it works →

Because showing up for our families takes more than just good intentions. It takes real connection.

And we couldn’t think of a better reminder than this one from Helen Keller:

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
