All week, I’d been getting ready for Comic-Con.
Packing Harmony Hare materials.
Rehearsing the message I hoped to share.
Feeling that buzzing sense of purpose — the kind that tells you,
“Something special is coming.”
So when I finally arrived in Niagara Falls after two hours…
and saw the empty venue…
and realized Comic-Con had actually ended the day before…
I froze.
My Victim Voice wanted to sulk.
My Villain Voice wanted to roast me.
But then — I practiced what I teach our kids.
I paused. Breathed.
Whispered: “Hero Voice, I need you.”
And asked the magic question: “How is this happening for me?”
What unfolded next? An unexpected meeting, a powerful connection, and doors opening in ways I could never have planned. It became a beautiful reminder:
Our rhythm isn’t revealed when things go right. It’s revealed when they go sideways. And children learn the most when they see us choose our Hero Voice.
(You can watch the little reel I filmed right after.)

My Top 5 Children’s Books for Teaching Emotional Intelligence
Perfect as holiday gifts or classroom additions!

Stories are one of my favorite ways to teach kids hero thinking, because they calm the mind and shape the rhythm in a room faster than anything else.
So this week, I’m sharing a few Hero-Intelligence-approved books that make meaningful (and magical) holiday gifts.
1. Harmony Hare and Her Three Voices — Tammy Vallieres
A powerful, playful way to teach children about their inner Victim, Villain, and Hero voices — helping them build self-awareness, emotional regulation, and confidence.

2. The Color Monster — Anna Llenas
A wonderful visual tool for helping children sort and name their emotions.

3. The Smart Cookie — Jory John & Pete Oswald
An inspiring story about overcoming self-doubt, embracing your uniqueness, and discovering your inner strengths.

4. The Rabbit Listened — Cori Doerrfeld
A beautiful example of compassionate emotional support.

5. Have You Filled a Bucket Today? — Carol McCloud
A classic for teaching kindness, empathy, and prosocial behavior.

The Magical Holiday Experience

If you're looking for a meaningful, low-pressure, non-toy gift this season, the Hare On The Chair Holiday Experience is a beautiful way to bring Harmony Hare into your home or classroom.
It’s simple, heart-centered, and helps build that Hero Voice language in a fun and magical way without overwhelm for parents or teachers.

Here's your Hero Voice Challenge of the Week:
Try asking your child this question the next time something goes wrong:
“If this is happening for us, what could it be teaching us?”
Let them think. Let them wonder.
Let them step into their Hero.
Small questions create lifelong habits.
Thank you for being part of this movement to raise empowered kids — children who understand their thoughts, feelings, and choices, and who become the heroes of their own stories.
Remember: The Hero in Me Sees the Hero in You.
With love and light,
